Bodhi
Lodge Dog
3/8/1995 - 3/18/2008

We lost our beloved Bodhi Lodge Dog
on Tuesday, March 18.
His heart, mind and spirit were strong, but his body was too weak and tired to go on.
He died peacefully in our arms while we said our tearful goodbyes.
We were blessed to share our lives with him for 13 wonderful years and have so many joyful memories to recall in this difficult time.
His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts, our home and the Lodge. But his spirit is still with us and we are so fortunate to have his book and calendars to vividly carry on his memory.
We know that those who knew him all hold him dear in your hearts and will miss him greatly also.
Many have asked how to honor his memory. We would love for you to share with us any special thoughts or memories you have of him, or photographs (Click on Bodhi Rembered to see some of the memories our friends and guests have shared with us).
We have also established the Bodhi Lodge Dog Relief Fund to help pets and owners less fortunate with health care or cremation costs. If you wish to contribute, checks can be made payable to the "Bodhi Lodge Dog Relief Fund" sent in care of the Savage River Lodge, 1600 Mt. Aetna Road, Frostbrug, MD 21532
We take comfort in knowing how much he was loved and how his memory will live on in the hearts of so many people whose lives he touched.
We honor a life well lived and loved - Bodhi Lodge Dog

Pack your Pet
What
is your pet's ideal vacation? For a dog, perhaps 800 acres of trees? Or
a huge frisbee field? Or fresh-baked dog biscuits? For a cat, the bliss
of a down comforter or perch on the back of a stuffed chair by a window?
And for all, a warm sleeping spot in front of the fire? Well, we have
it all.
Are
we pet friendly? You bet we are! Lodge pets receive a daily gourmet treat and are welcome
all over the property except inside the Lodge building
and the porches. We do recommend that your pet be on leash while
on our property, however, unless there's a frisbee game in progress. So
if you want to get away without leaving your best friend behind, call
us to inquire about rates and arrangements.
Sorry,
but we can only accept overnight pets by advance arrangement only. Please
call for information. Pet rates are $25 per night per pet.

We've
Gone to the Dogs!
Yes,
we ARE pet crazy! And as dog owners, we are more than a little fond of
our four-footed friends. We are always amazed at the interactions between
Bodhi and his pet guests, and wanted to find a way to make it a little
easier for some good romping around.
If
you are here with your dog, and your dog is friendly toward other dogs,
you can meet on Saturdays at 4 p.m. in the meadow in spring, summer and fall for Yappy Hour! Have a jolly ol' time sniffing, snuffling, rolling about, and all
those yummy things dogs do when they've made friends. It's up to the Owners,
though, to keep things peaceful. See you there!
