With
quiet forests and clear mountain streams, Western Maryland is the place

Western Maryland waters! So, if you want to go for trophys, or just want
to experience the "zen" of fly fishing, give us a call!
The
Lodge sells basic fly fishing supplies, offers excellent guide services,
and is open for lunch and dinner daily. We also offer fly fishing lessons
and we have a staff of fishing guides for those who want to make their life a little easier, or for those new to the art. In addition, we provide extraordinary accommodations,
hospitality and dining to help turn a great day or two of incredible fly
fishing into a trip to remember. Give us a call today to see what we have

Dusty Wissmath's Fly Fishing School
This two-day clinic combines the fundamentals of fly fishing with practical experience. It is tailored for the person who wants an in-depth introduction to the sport. The first day of the class covers basic casting mechanics as well as the tackle and knots used in fly fishing. Time will be spent in our classroom and on the ponds that surround it as you master the skills, with the help of video analysis, to make a cast that is efficient, effective and repeatable. Types of flies and how they relate to what fish eat will be discussed as well.
We will spend the second day on the river. You will be introduced to stream ecology, fly selection (matching the hatch), reading water and aquatic entomology. We will also cover fly fishing ethics and etiquette. Later in the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to catch your first fish on a fly as you are guided by your instructors. You will leave this class with a foundation of skills and knowledge that will allow you to enjoy fly fishing and continue learning on your own. The new Scott A2 fly rod and Ross Flystart reel that you've used during the second day are yours to keep. This rod and reel with the backing, line and leader normally retails for $360.
