Birding
The decks of the Lodge and the surrounding trails are great birding locations.
Carey Run is less than 3 miles from the Lodge and has recorded approximately 150 species of birds.
Bring your binoculars, birding books and enjoy all of these beautiful creatures, including: hummingbirds, American goldfinches, Baltimore orioles, cardinals, Eastern bluebird, sparrows, red-breasted robins, Carolina wrens, juncos, rose-breasted grosbeaks, woodpeckers, purple finches, Eastern and rufus-sided towhees, nuthatches, magnolia warbler, cedar waxwings, ruffed grouse and tufted titmice.
Please let us know if you see any additional birds in our area!
