StargazingThe most serious stargazers know that the best time for viewing is in the winter when the sky is clear and the weather cold - Western Maryland is a great stargazing destination! The Lodge's lower parking lot is a great spot for viewing, as well as the field in front of the main Lodge. There is very minimal light pollution, being in the center of 700 acres of state forest! The best times for stargazing are when there is a new moon or crescent moon, which gives off the least amount of light. Check out this link for an astronomical calendar to see what show the sky will put on when you're next up!
