This Week at SRL
October 11 to October 18
Check-in time is between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., or 8 p.m. on Fridays. If you arrive after the office closes you will find your keys on the front porch of the main Lodge in a basket with your name on it, with directions to your cabin or yurt and a flashlight to help you find your way.
We recommend that you use these directions. Your GPS may be unreliable in our rural location, or take you down a "shortcut." We are located four miles from Exit 29/Finzel of Interstate 68. The route is signed. Our driveway is a 1.5 mile long winding gravel road. Please drive slowly and enjoy the view ─ you're in vacation mode now!
Highs in the low to mid 70s, lows in the low 50s. Cloudy with a chance of showers through the week, clearing for the weekend. Detailed forecast
what to pack
Check the forecast, but be prepared for a range of temperatures. Our restaurant does not have a dress code, but we kindly ask that you wipe off your muddy hiking boots before coming to dinner.
Here's what you don't have to bring ─
All bed linens and bath towels are provided, some rooms offer bathrobes. Each room has all toiletries, paper products, and a hairdryer. Coffee and tea are provided. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages as each room has a mini-fridge, but there is not a microwave.
You'll find a stack of magazines and books, but we recommend bringing along a favorite book or journal, and a deck of cards or board game.
Forgot something? Our gift shop stocks essentials like toothbrushes and aspirin for just-in-case.
Do you have reservations? Many times are fully committed due to the busy weekend and your first choice may not be available if you have not already made reservations.
Reservations are not required for lunch (offered daily at 11:30 a.m.) or breakfast (Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m.).
Enjoy dining on the deck while it lasts!
Muffin baskets will be delivered to your front porch each morning by 8:30 a.m. Request any upgrade options by 6 p.m. the previous evening.
Meet & Greet
Join Mike & Jan on the second floor of the Lodge for Meet & Greet on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Complimentary wine and cheese is provided. Your Lodge Dogs are invited to the lawn for Yappy Hour at 3:00 p.m.
Disconnect from your devices and reconnect with each other! To not disrupt the tranquil surroundings, there are no televisions or radios. Limited wi-fi is found only in the great room and bar area of the main Lodge. There is no wi-fi at the cabins or yurts, though cell service is generally sufficient. Tag us on Facebook or Instagram @thesrlodge to share your #LodgeLife experience.
Go for a hike! It's a little damp out there, but autumn colors are at their peak. Pick up a map from the front desk. Try our wine-themed geocache for a fun scavenger hunt through the woods.
Bonfires will be lit and maintained by SRL staff, weather permitting.
